The Canterbury Rebuild Safety Charter (the Charter) has been nominated as an award finalist for ACC best leadership of an industry sector or region as part of the 2017 NZ Workplace Health and Safety Awards.
The Charter is an agreement on health and safety between the leaders of government organisations and construction-related companies.
Navigatus continues to assist the Charter in the design and development of the online tool. The tool encompasses a self-assessment survey, designed to gauge performance against the Charter goals. As a result, it aims to help signatories measure and improve their Charter performance and leadership. It is regularly completed by over 200 organisations.
Presentation for easy analysis by Policy makers and Charter participants was a key consideration. This is done through graphs and tables with filtering options. The results of the tool allow organisations to assess performance against the Charter and other organisations. In addition to results, the tool links to information to help improve performance.
[soft comment]
Health and safety usually makes the headlines only when something goes wrong, so it is always a pleasure each year to read the award entries and learn of the tremendous amount of good work which goes on behind the scenes, mostly unrecognised.
